1912
HunTel’s roots were planted in 1912 by E.C. Hunt when he bought out his partner in the Creighton, NE telephone exchange. The current owners of HunTel are E.C.’s grandson and 2 of his great-grandsons, making HunTel one of the oldest and most successful family businesses in Nebraska.
1934
During the Great Depression HunTel helped local communities and businesses thrive by turning Omaha into a Telecommunications hub.
1978
During the 1970’s HunTel installed the first tone-to-pulse converter in the Midwest, a groundbreaking technology for its time.
1956
By the 1950’s phones were no longer an expensive luxury for the rich, they had become a staple necessity for most homes and businesses with HunTel playing a key role in this transformation throughout the region.
2000
Although approaching a century in business, HunTel embraced the challenge of the new Internet landscape and installed some of the first VoIP phone systems in the nation, a true local pioneer
